Even in the context of New York City’s incredibly diverse cultural scene, the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts plays a unique role. Covering an area of nearly 7 hectares, it houses several cultural organisations and institutions. Nestled in the heart of Manhattan, it is home to – among others – the Metropolitan Opera House, the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and the New York City Ballet. Its theatres and concert halls are frequented by culture-loving locals and foreigners alike. The Rose Theater is also found here; a three-storey building with a sizeable auditorium, and a moving stage which can be transformed from a modern theatre into an arena, and everything in between.

The Rose Theater houses a great diversity of performances, genres and events, including jazz concerts, theatre, symphony orchestra concerts, dance, ballet, film premieres, operas and conferences. The Festival Orchestra is quite at home in the building, as it also hosts the Mostly Mozart Festival, where the BFO has often shown its opera productions to great acclaim.

It will also be the perfect setting for their production of Don Giovanni. As long ago as 2011, The New York Times was describing Iván Fischer’s production of Don Giovanni as “more involving, imaginative and theatrically daring” than many full opera-house performances. This year, a whole new cast will be introducing you to the world’s most notorious womaniser, in one of the greatest compositions ever conceived. Online tickets

Pursuing happiness, love and affection through countless adventures across this great wide world, but still eventually finding a final peace in the arms of his beloved, Peer Gynt is one of the most complex characters in 19th-century drama. The challenges of staging and absorbing the play are always exceptional tests of strength for the director and the audience.

A Rumini a mai magyar meseirodalom egyik sztárszerzőjének, Berg Juditnak a legismertebb műve, melyet évről-évre több ezer magyar gyerek olvas kötelező irodalomként az alsó tagozatban.

"A three-course gourmet menu" was how the Bachtrack critic described Paavo Järvi's concert, which featured pieces by Sibelius, Tüür and Beethoven. The Grammy Award-winning Estonian-American conductor is coming to the BFO with a similarly exciting program.
