The Ferenc Snétberger Quartet and the students of the Snétberger Musical Talent Centre: Ferenc Snétberger guitar, Árpád Oláh Tzumó keyboard, piano, József Barcza Horváth bass guitar, double-bass, Toni Snétberger drums.
In 1995 Snétberger composed “In memory of my people” for the 50th anniversary of the Holocaust, a work for guitar and full orchestra which he dedicated to his people. The piece is inspired by traditional Roma melodies and is a powerful protest against human suffering. It will be presented here by the world-famous Ferenc Liszt Chamber Orchestra.
In the second half of the concert, the Kossuth prize-winner, Ferenc Snétberger, will play with his quartet of excellent musicians. Árpád Oláh Tzumo, Berklee scholarship holder, hardly needs introducing to the Hungarian audience, neither does József Barcza Horváth, one-time double-bass player for the Festival Orchestra and prize-winner at numerous jazz competitions. Toni Snétberger is known in Germany not just as a jazz drummer, but also as an actor. In 2011, Snétberger founded the Snétberger Musical Talent Centre, for the musical education of children from disadvantaged backgrounds. He will introduce the talented students of the school during the evening.
