BANDALOOP, the company that also amazed a Budapest audience with its stunning dance on the glass wall of an office building, now returns to the theatre. They developed STRINGS, their new show, with the world-famous London-based composer and DJ, Gabriel Prokofiev.
Amelia Rudolph and the dancers created a choreography that allows the artistic apparatus of vertical dance to come into its own indoors. One of the principal roles is played by the rope itself, which represents, visibly and metaphorically, relationships, belonging, breaking, control, and release.
The performance will be preceded from 8 pm by a taste of the BANDALOOP’s fascinating vertical dance on the frontage of the Müpa Budapest. The open-air performance is a free programme.

The world-renowned composer/conductor who passed away recently at the age of 80 after being awarded the Kossuth Grand Prize this year, once said that "jazz is a fundamental element for me”. At this concert in memory of his life and work, in addition to an early piece of electronic music and a late choral work, we will hear compositions of his that are closely linked to the sounds of jazz and improv performed by prominent artists from the Hungarian jazz scene.
