Külvárosi motelszoba. A középkorú Rolly és a huszonéves fia, Stevie, félelemben várják, hogy mi fog történni. Megbízta őket egy nagymenő bűnöző egy komoly feladattal, de ők nem követték pontosan a tervet. Itt elbújtak. Egyelőre nem tudják, hogy mit csináljanak, csak idegesen néznek ki az ablakon, és leszögezik, hogy amíg csak lehet, ebben a motelszobában kell maradniuk – különben elkapják őket és meghalnak. Phillie, a motel portása viszont bekopog, mert a szobát már két órája el kellett volna hagyni – ha Rolly és Stevie maradni akarnak, az plusz negyven dollár. Rollynak és Stevie-nek nincs plusz negyven dollárja… De elraboltak egy lányt, és most itt van velük a motel fürdőjében, megkötözve…
