Miklós Perényi, who just recently celebrated his 75th birthday, holds a prominent place among the world-famous and highly esteemed instrumentalists of our time. He has cultivated a close friendship with the MÁV Symphony Orchestra for decades, which is why he will be honoured with a special concert, where he will be making his debut as a chamber musician and even as a teacher, for he will be performing Vivaldi's double concerto with one of his students.

András ‘Apey' Áron is one of the most well-known and most versatile songwriter-performers and bandleaders in Hungary. His name might be familiar from his work in the acclaimed, influential Hungarian rock and metal bands LAZARVS, Apey & the Pea, Trillion and - many years ago - Neck Sprain.

Ádám Fischer's career as a conductor, which began more than half a century ago, is linked to his homeland in many ways: the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Hungarian State Opera, Müpa Budapest and the Austro-Hungarian Haydn Orchestra are all important chapters in his work.

The subject matter is far from the only thing that promises to make this performance of Offenbach's last work for the stage so fantastic, as we will get to hear some wonderful singers when Bartlett Sher's captivating 2009 production of Tales of Hoffmann returns to the Met's series of HD transmissions.

Taking the stage at Müpa Budapest on this evening will be the creative spirit Philippe Herreweghe joined by the world-famous workshops he founded: the Collegium Vocale Gent and the Orchestre des Champs-Elysées.

Zsombor Tóth-Vajna is an outstandingly talented member of the young Hungarian generation of artists dedicated to the historically informed performance of early music, both as a conductor and a specialist in early keyboard instruments, playing the organ, harpsichord, fortepiano and clavichord. He completed his studies at Budapest's Liszt Academy and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

A Budapesti Vonósok rendszeresen együttműködnek zenei köznevelési szervezetekkel, intézményekkel. Többéves hagyomány folytatásaként idén is a Budapesti Vonósok kísérik a Weiner Leó Katolikus Zeneiskola és Zeneművészeti Szakgimnázium tehetséges növendékeit a Szent Imre Gimnázium dísztermében.

Everyone is welcome to come in colourful clothes, the programme is a mere 50 minutes in length (without an interval), and the audience sits in close proximity to the organist. Performing the May programme, the fourth instalment of the series, will be Péter Mekis, a representative of the younger generation.

Balatonboglár, Hévíz és Siófok után tavaly óta Budapesten is megrendezik a Majestic Sounds orgonahangverseny-sorozatot: az esteket 2024. május 24. és december 27-e között, péntekenként 19 órától hallgathatják meg. Az orgonaművész játékát kivetítőn is követheti a közönség, az elhangzó műveket a belépéskor kézbe adott műsorlapon is olvashatják.
