Az idei első koncertet a Várkert Bazár szabadtéri színpadán egy különleges energikus, ütős hangszerekkel kiteljesedő női a cappella együttes, a Napfonat adja. Öt szabad hang összefonódása, ami együtt valami többet alkot, polifonikus egységük néha kórusra emlékeztető erővel szól, máskor egy-egy lágy egyéni hang kerül középpontba, ötük harmóniáját pedig elemi ritmus kíséri majd.

Organ Grinder's Suite, paying homage to the relevant trios of the genre, earned critical acclaim and the trio is regularly perfoming its material. In the meantime they already started to work on new compositions, thus the audience of Opus already can hear some of these on the present concert.

Eliades Ochoa's performance at Müpa Budapest is sure to be one of the most exciting concerts of 2024. Although the Cuban singer/guitarist has been a famous musician in his native country since the 1970s, it was only at the turn of the millennium that the wider world first encountered his name, thanks to the Wim Wenders documentary on the Buena Vista Social Club.

Radulovic's desire is to expand the boundaries of music and reach audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

Symphonic concert

This two-part concert will present the finest and most diverse aspects of the Belgian jazz scene. The Brussels Jazz Orchestra, Belgian's leading big band, will be uniting its powers with the superb saxophonist Philip Catherine, outstanding guitarist Bert Joris and the distinctive singer David Linx to wow the audience as they perform a programme compiled especially for the Bridging Europe festival.

On this November evening, the guitarist Mike Gotthard, who is equally receptive to the music of jazz, blues, rock and funk, will invite the audience into his own jazz-rock world where the instruments and melodies take centre stage.

The popular folk-rock band MORDÁI, which was founded by Soma Nóvé - who made his name with the group Middlemist Red - feeds on the bedrock of experimental Hungarian folk music of the 1960s and 70s, boldly reconceptualising folk songs and well-known melodies with jazz motifs and elements of improvisation.

The band absorbs the material of the original recordings, sticking to the arrangements, forms and compositional features. As improvisation is at the heart of jazz, solos are invented by the players at the moment.

A székesfehérvári Alba Regia Táncegyüttes sok évtizede tartozik a legizgalmasabb vidéki néptáncműhelyek közé, köszönhető ez többek között két meghatározó alkotónak, vezetőnek, mesternek és tanítványának. Botos József a hetvenes évek elején kezdett el koreografálni és tanítani a királyi város néptáncegyüttesénél, a hetvenes évek közepétől három évtizeden át volt az együttes művészeti vezetője, számos fesztiváldíjas koreográfia készítője, a stafétát 2006-ban pártfogoltja és tanítványa Majoros Róbert vette át, aki sikeresen járja tovább a mestere által megkezdett utat. Az együttesnek készült igényes autentikus műsorok, táncjátékok, történelmi témájú tablók mellett mindkettőjük számára meghatározó a szülővároshoz való kötődés, a város életében való aktív jelenlét, a mester által megálmodott Királyi Napok megvalósítása, éltetése, a város fontos eseményein a tanítványokkal való részvétel, a szűkebb és tágabb közösség építése, a gyökerek fontosságának átadása.

A VÁCZI ESZTER és a QUARTET 2024-ben hét év után adja ki legújabb, immáron ötödik albumát, LESZ MAJD ÚGY címmel.

A Honvéd Férfikar a férfikari zeneirodalom egyik legtermékenyebb időszakát, a német romantikát közelíti meg Hoffmeister, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Rheinberger, Wolf, Reger, Cornelius, Brahms, Weber és Wagner kompozíciókkal.

The world-renowned composer/conductor who passed away recently at the age of 80 after being awarded the Kossuth Grand Prize this year, once said that "jazz is a fundamental element for me”. At this concert in memory of his life and work, in addition to an early piece of electronic music and a late choral work, we will hear compositions of his that are closely linked to the sounds of jazz and improv performed by prominent artists from the Hungarian jazz scene.
