The story takes place in New York, in the second half of the 1930ies, aboard the cruise ship La Paz, where we witness the stormy encounter of a sour young businesswoman (Tony) and a handsome swindler (Frank). We would not like to spoil the exciting storyline for you, but there is one thing you should know for sure: the ship is full of peculiar and funny characters, who will surely put a smile on your face! There's Toni's fiancé, for example, the neurotic and vain millionaire (Albert), the beastly wife (Edith) who keeps her husband (Alphonse) under brutal oppression, a hedonistic old lady (Irene), who loves to play tennis even more than she loves drinking champagne: they all constantly strive after happiness, they all desperately try to succeed in their own way.
The La Paz sets out for Monte Carlo, big money is at stake, and everyone is playing with each other's hearts, while the roaring swing music of the brightest era of the jazz age helps to turn up the heat even more.
The music of this exceptional production was composed by Artisjus and Fonogram Award-winner composer and saxophone player Bársony Bálint, who also features in the production with his jazz band. The book and the lyrics were written by Attila Lőrinczy, and he based his work on the popular 30ies stage author's, Aszlányi Károly’s comedy of the same name.

“The protagonist of this grotesque story is the widow Mrs. Béla Orbán, and the play is actually her never-ending big-mouthed, truth-bending or downright lying quarrel with everyone around her. (…) She fights tooth and nail to force her confused, senseless and hopeless love on the world."
