The two defining figures of modern ballet were born a month apart early in the 20th century. One of them entered the world in Saint Petersburg and went on to further develop the foundations of Russian classical ballet in the New World, where he is now remembered as the "father of American ballet"; the second was a Danish artist who created works for the Royal Danish Ballet, and later for the Opéra National de Paris. The OMG dance show pays tribute to the work of George Balanchine and Harald Lander, evoking the era between 1947 and 1950 with three pieces from the oeuvres of the two masters.
