This beautiful and captivating setting will transport audiences into a unique musical world, in which the classical composers Liszt, Bartók, Kodály and Brahms meet traditional folk tunes and folk-inspired song. The Hungarian State Folk Ensemble orchestra performs music by these composers, along with the folk and urban Gypsy music that inspired them.

Béla Bartók is one of the most famous Hungarian composers.His work as a performer, researcher and teacher forms a cornerstone of Hungarian musical literature,and his works are still played today in the world’s great concert halls.Bartók’s research focused on the traditional folk music of the Carpathian Basin, and in parallel on the folk music heritage of the nationalities living alongside the Hungarian people, convinced as he was that we are able to understand the treasures of our own culture only if it is interpreted in the context of those living around us.
It was in 1982 that the experimentally minded American director Godfrey Reggio created his film Koyaanisqatsi, which went on to gain cult status among audiences receptive to new concepts.
