Urge, or also called Drive, is our human will to live, our hopes, a journey through our instinctual needs. From the inception of every living being these needs await to be fulfilled. An unappeasable thirst for life, a driving force, or is this just a glimpse of our inner hedonism…? What happens when our own drive breaks through the barriers of our restraint, do we become fulfilled; or do we just not meet our expectations…?

“We are going back in time to find the future we live in.’’
Inspired by the first movie to be recognised by UNESCO World Cultural Heritage- METROPOLIS, Salvatore Sicilianos creates his new short piece UNSIGHTED. The city, center of cultural change, a Metropolis, where everything happens, a surrealistic future, a blur of philosophical ideas.
Were these futuristic ideas of the 1920s so far fetched from the present we now live in? Comparing the threat of industrialisation, in which machines erase human labour with a very similar threat of today’s digitalisation, Salvatore wants to explore the emotional side of rapid cultural change. Social divides are expanding. Poverty still clashes with abundance. We are waiting for a saviour, who will fill the gap between technology and our human transient existence? Will human like robots, artificial intelligence, be that saviour? Or is it still the human heart that is the center between the brain and the hand.
