János Lackfi has said that today's poetry is more colourful than fireworks. With a little bit of music thrown in, it offers the spiciest of 'culinary experiences', where one is likely to lick all ten fingers afterwards. He has also said that literature is the wildest of travel agents: it takes you across a thousand years and a thousand miles before in the end you land in your own life, extending down to the earth and up to heaven. Life moves everything. On one street corner they are knifing each other, on another they caress, on a third they are pushing wheelchairs, on a fourth a pram, one person is trudging home with their grandmother's ashes, another is singing, a little tipsily, 'don't worry, be happy.' Life is a lot like jazz. Everything changes. Jazz is a lot like a city. Constantly on the move. Life is a lot like a city where jazz is playing.
