Michael Mayo’s family legacy and natural talent paved the way for him to blossom as an artist and eventually achieve global fame. As the third vocalist to graduate from the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Performance, he has worked alongside the institute’s founder, Herbie Hancock, as well as with Kneebody, Christian Sands and Gretchen Parlato. His impeccable vocal technique is complemented by his skills as a composer and arranger, making him one of the most exciting vocal artists of his generation. His deeply personal debut album, Fly, released in 2024, features both his own compositions and those of others, which he sings in the company of Shai Maestro, Linda May Han Oh and Nate Smith.
