In Correspondence #1 the artists deal with their personal queries about these places and their political complexities in the frame of two recent events and the current struggles evolved around them: the Catalan referendum to declare independence on the one hand, and Trump’s announcement of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel on the other. Between reality and fiction, they investigate the performative power that such declarations and statements have on the landscape, and explore the entanglement of the ideas of utopia and dystopia in our realities.
