Napjait szerény kutyakozmetikai szalonja és lánya, Sofia iránti szeretete töltik ki, valamint ellentmondásos kapcsolata az egész környéket rettegésben töltő, korábbi ökölvívóval, Simoncinóval. A sokadik földbetiprás után Marcello végre úgy dönt, visszaszerzi méltóságát, s bosszút eszel ki, amely végül nem várt fordulatot vesz.
