A verseny szabályai szerint a három, esetleg a négy legjobb játékos juthat be a Budapesti Nemzetközi Gitárverseny döntőjébe, amelynek kötelezően kiírt versenyprogramjaként - szabadon választhatóan - a spanyol zeneszerző, Joaquin Rodrigo híres Concierto de Aranjuez című művét vagy a nem kevésbé ismert brazil zeneszerző Heitor Villa-Lobos Concertóját fogják a versenyzők bemutatni. A gitárirodalomban központi helyet foglal el mindkét versenymű, melyek egyúttal a gitárzenét szerető közönség állandó kedvencei közé is tartoznak. Mindkét mű a legmagasabb virtuozitást és egyúttal a legérzékenyebb zenei megoldásokat követeli a játékosoktól, így aki ezt a fordulót sikeresen teljesíti, azt rövid időn belül bizonyosan a legrangosabb koncertpódiumokon fogja a közönség ünnepelni.
In accordance with the rules of the competition the best three or perhaps four musicians can get into the finals of the Budapest International Guitar Competition, where the competitors will play one of the two options of the compulsory program (free of choice): either the famous Concierto de Aranjuez by the Spanish composer Joaquin Rodrigo or the Concerto of the similarly recognized Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos. Both concertos play a central role in the literature of guitar music, thus at the same time they are the eternal favourites of lovers of this genre. Both works require the utmost virtuosity and at the same time the most sensitive musical solutions from the guitarists, thus those who manage to complete this round successfully will be surely celebrated soon by the audience in the highest ranking concert halls.
