The extremely high-quality Budapest Ballet Grand Prix attracts dancers - both students enrolled in professional training courses and qualified graduates - from all over the world, from Japan to America, to demonstrate their dedication, outstanding skills and talent. The top competitors also receive the opportunity to present themselves to the Müpa Budapest audience at the closing gala.
The Hungarian Dance Academy, whose mission is to train Hungarian dance artists, has announced a new ballet competition of outstanding artistic quality in order to promote dance as a profession in Hungary. The Budapest Ballet Grand Prix international ballet competition welcomes applications from talented young dancers from all over the world who wish to put their excellence, talent and dedication to the test, offering them numerous opportunities to advance their careers in the dance world. Competitors from professional schools and ensembles everywhere from Japan to America will summon up the best from themselves in three age groups, in the categories of both classical and contemporary dance. The qualifiers and semi-finals are being hosted by the National Dance Theatre, with Müpa Budapest taking over these duties for the closing gala, the climactic grand finale of BBGP23. Also taking part in this gala night is the Ballet Company of Győr, with the winners and runners-up in the various categories and the recipients of the audience award all performing over the course of the evening as well.
