A nemrég elvált Lucas egy vidám baráti társaság megbecsült tagja, gondoskodó apa, megbízható munkatárs. Egy óvodában dolgozik asszisztensként, szereti a munkáját, és a gyerekek, kollégák is kedvelik őt. Egyik kolléganőjével randizni kezd, és úgy tűnik, magánélete is mederbe kerül. A harmonikus hétköznapok azonban egy pillanat alatt omlanak össze egy apró füllentés hatására: az egyik kislány, legjobb barátja gyermeke az óvodában azt mondja, hogy Lucas tett vele valamit. A gyermeki hazugság visszafordíthatatlan károkat okozva szabadul el, a magára maradó, védtelen Lucas pedig értetlenül áll az események előtt.
