A Modern Art Orchestra fennállásának 20. évfordulóját nagyszabású gálakoncerttel ünnepli december 28-án a Várkert Bazárban. Pontosan húsz évvel azután, hogy a zenekar 2005. december 28-án a Thália Színházban először mutatkozott be a közönség előtt, most ismét ezen a napon ad koncertet – immár két évtized közös zenei élményeit ünnepelve.

Rohmann Ditta hangversenyén a barokk, a huszadik századi és a kortárs csellóirodalom találkozik egymással.

A French evening in the spirit of refinement, colours, moods – and pathos. The Debussy work, L’Après-midi d’un Faune, heralds the birth of impressionism and the two Saint-Saëns compositions, the Cello Concerto in A minor and the hugely popular Organ Symphony, represent romanticism – the latter of which is heavily influenced by Liszt. It is not just the composers who are French: so are the conductor and the soloist.

Az Átlátszó Hang Újzenei Fesztiválon az esti koncertet hagyományosan beavató beszélgetés előzi meg. A Párhuzamos valóságok című hangverseny fellépői közül Márta Istvánnal, Jalalu-Kalvert Nelsonnal és Fekete-Kovács Kornéllal folytat majd eszmecserét Gryllus Samu zeneszerző, a fesztivál alapító kurátora az előadás művészeti koncepciójáról és műhelytitkokról.

Nagy és nemes feladatra vállalkozik a Magyar Állami Népi Együttes erdélyi antológiájának színpadra állításával. Az Édeskeserű szerves folytatása annak az évek óta tartó alkotói folyamatnak, amely korszerű folklórértelmezésével, a színház eszközeinek bátor alkalmazásával, makacs következetességgel mutat rá újra és újra gyökereinkre, hagyományos kultúránk fontosságára.

This production of the FrenÁk Company features adynamic team, the members of a new generation. The young, creative dancers draw on the energies of their colourful cultural and linguistic differences as they bring a new creative approach to FrenÁk’s concept. It is a fusion of the arts, a multimedia work with two contrasting yet complementary parts that reflect on the contradictions of our times.

What music accompanied the life of the Swedish royal court during the reign of Charles XI in the 17th century? Ensemble Correspondances, one of France’s most renowned early music formations, brings the rarely heard treasures of Scandinavian Baroque to Budapest for the first time.

A box can hide many things, especially if we can passthrough it into another, fairy-tale, magical dimension. The protagonist of the piece tries to make friends in a game world and meets various puppets. He learns that they have the same emotions, the same bonds and relationships develop between them as if they were people, and maybe he can even fall in love with one of them.

Vincenzo Bellini’s final opera is a veritable apotheosis of bel canto that should only be presented to an audience with performers displaying impeccable technique and stylistic sensibilities.

Miles Davis, one of the most recognisable figures in jazz history, would have celebrated his hundredth birthday in 2026. To mark the occasion, a star trumpet player in the world of contemporary jazz, Ambrose Akinmusire, has come together with the Brussels Jazz Orchestra to embark on a joint tour, honour the giant of the genre, pay tribute to his legacy, and go beyond it by creating new works and inventive arrangements that reimagine the Miles Davis’s genius in the context of modern jazz.

Two vastly different yet mutually enriching musical universes meet on the Müpa stage this evening: Söndörgő, one of Hungary’s most exciting representatives of Balkan and South Slavic musical traditions, and the world-renowned Balanescu Quartet, which masterfully combines contemporary classical music with boundary-defying creative improvisation.
