The Oscar-winning composer Tan Dun’s landmark opera blends Eastern philosophy with the language of Western music. This is the first time the work will be heard in Hungary, and it will be conducted by the composer himself. Set in the 7th century, it tells the story of the passionate love of a Japanese prince and a Chinese princess, and of their fateful quest for the legendary The Classic of Tea by Lu Yu.

On October 10, 2026, an extraordinary musical experience awaits audiences in Budapest: world-famous piano virtuoso Péter Bence will perform his brand-new concert program on the stage of the MVM Dome. The new show promises not only fresh compositions and breathtaking piano performances but also a more stunning visual concept, innovative stage solutions, and a mysterious special guest — ensuring it will be one of the most memorable musical events of the year.

Under the title Castle Session, the open-air events of the series transform the pulse of the city into sound. Once a month, the Neo-Renaissance Garden becomes home to the distinctive sonic world of Be Massive Horizon. The rose garden’s unique atmosphere, panoramic views of the Danube and Gellért Hill, and the historic setting at the foot of the Buda Castle together create the evening’s unmistakable backdrop.

Now celebrating its 30th anniversary, Söndörgő is Müpa Budapest’s Ensemble of the Season, which means it will be giving several concerts that break with tradition in the course of the 2025-26 season. Among these will be an evening founded on international collaboration that features three outstanding musicians from the world-renowned progressive jazz-funk-fusion band Snarky Puppy: Michael League, Jay Jennings, and Chris Bullock.
