Realized in cooperation between the CAFe Budapest Festival and the Hungarian Jazz Federation, this concert is the gala event of the 1st International Gyula Csepregi Saxophone Competition. With the competition for saxophonists under 30, and the closing event, the organizers wish to pay homage to, as well as preserve the musical heritage of, a saxophone player, composer and bandleader of great stature, one of the greatest Hungarian players of jazz fusion. The formations that were once the most important for Gyula Csepregi include his compositions in their programmes as they pay their tribute to their former dear friend and musical partner.
This international gala is also one of the most important events of the 7th Day of Hungarian Jazz, the greatest celebration of the genre in Hungary.
