The concerts consist of works by the most famous film music composers, such as John Willams, James Horner, Klaus Badelt, Miklós Rózsa, etc. At every concert there are several classical pieces, which have become known to audiences unfamiliar with classical music through a famous film. (e. g.: Mascagni: Cavalleria Rusticana Intermezzo – Godfather, Tchaikovsky: 1812 – V for Vendetta). A feature of the concerts is the screening of short films and extracts showing the relationship between film and music. The backbone of the programme consists of the greatest box office success of recent decades (Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, ET, Pirates of the Caribbean, Titanic, etc.), but there are also older classics (e. g.: Ben Hur). The programme must not lack humour: Chaplin’s famous film The Dictator counts as a bravura performance by a conductor, accompanied live by the melodies of Brahms Hungarian dance No. 5, synchronised with inimitable brilliance to the images seen on the screen. The performance is made even more memorable by conductor Gábor Hollerung’s witty but substantial connecting texts for the Hungarian audience, which bring the music even closer to the listeners.
