This event is a metaphorical showcase of Italian literature in its contemporary and historical profundity. The guest for the evening will be one of the most important contemporary prose writers, Daniele Benati. It is not only his own works that the audience will get to know, as a discussion conducted with his monographer Ágnes Ludmann and the outstanding Italianist Norbert Mátyus will also introduce them to the most important authors and trends in contemporary Italian literature. Through interpretations by superb actors, the audience will get tastes of works by Italian authors who are also well known in Hungary such as Italo Calvino, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Umberto Eco and Claudio Magris. The outstanding cultural historian and musician Krisztián Puskár will also show an A/V presentation of excerpts from pieces of contemporary Italian music.
