Artistic director and director-choreographer Balázs Vincze is very familiar with the tastes of dance aficionados partial to the traditions of bourgeois theatre and is superb at adapting familiar and popular literary classics to the dance stage. His wonderful sense of proportion enables audiences to follow plots in the language of dance. His contemporary choreographies built on classical foundations are unique, spectacular and of a high professional calibre without losing sight of the need to please the audience.

This production of the FrenÁk Company features adynamic team, the members of a new generation. Bayadere is a ballet imbued with an idealized exoticism both in the melodramatic plot and in the overall aesthetics. But he expresses - in his most famous scene The Kingdom of Shadows - a vision that goes beyond the context and that opens up to a landscape of pure movement, abstract and lucid in its formal simplicity.

1983 óta, a klasszikus balett óriásának tartott Jean-Georges Noverre születésnapján, április 29-én ünnepli a világ „A Tánc Világnapját”.

Compared to Swan Lake, the well-known version of the classical ballet, I wished to rephrase the piece from another aspect, in a different light. In my interpretation, Siegfried is a young man with a split mind, who is being held captive by the traumas of his childhood as a result of his relationship with his mother.

Szabó Magda a világon a legismertebb modern magyar író, könyveit 43 nyelvre fordították le. Az ajtó című regényét 1987-ben írta. A regényt megjelenése óta közel 40 nyelvre fordították le, alkotóját 2003-ban a francia Femina-díjjal tüntették ki, Szabó István 2012-ben filmet forgatott belőle Helen Mirren főszereplésével. A regényből készített adaptációkat sikerrel játsszák a színházak is.

Az ajtó főhősét, Szeredás Emerencet, Júlia utcai otthona egykori bejárónőjéről, Szőke Juliannáról mintázta az író. Egy egyszerű, méltóságát őrző, élete borzalmait magába záró öregasszony és a sikeres művész, Szabados Magda szeretet-küzdelme mitikus mélységet nyer az önostorozó őszinteséggel feltárt történetben. „Én öltem meg Emerencet. Ezen az se módosít, hogy nem elpusztítani akartam, hanem megmenteni” – mondja regénybeli írónő, Szabados Magda. A hétköznapi látás számára meg nem mutatkozó lelki dimenziókat tár fel ez a nyomozás, amit a saját maga ellen indít az írónő és emeli Emerencet az emberi méltóság balladai hősnőjévé.

Frida kultusza sokrétű, így sokféleképpen kapcsolódnak és vonzódnak hozzá az emberek: ideál, ikon, akinek életigenlése páratlan volt, pedig élete tragédiák és viharos szerelmek sokaságával volt tele. Sokaknak múzsa, hiszen különleges és egyedi karaktere mai napig sokakat ösztönöz, akár női egyenjogúságról, művészetről, bátorságról, akár előremutató eszmékről vagy bámulatos életerőről beszélünk.

Melinda álmodott egy Hazáról, ahol békében élhet. Ahonnan nem kell gyerekként elmenekülnie a két bátyjával, mint kislányként a szülőhazájából, Spanyolországból, azért, mert veszélyben az élete. Azt hitte, hogy Magyarhonban megtalálta azt a hazát, ahol soha többé nem kell félnie.
